“Bananas as Medicine”

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!
This is interesting.
After reading this, you’ll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes.

But energy isn’t the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power:200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overco me the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness:Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites:Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweightand at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:Many other cultures see bananas as a “cooling” fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use:Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal. <BR>
Stress:Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body’s water balance. When we are stressed, our me tabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes:According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts:Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, “A banana a day keeps the doctor away!”

“Wise Words from Rev. Run”

“We must have a DEEP sense of purpose and the will to fulfill it. We must resolve old unfinished business, and eliminate toxic people and attitudes from our lives. WE MUST WORK HARD, have long periods of study and concentrated efforts. We must withdraw and sever ties with people who are not truly aligned with our best long term interests. Focus exclusively on your ambitions and what is important to you.”

” Please read about the dangers of Plastic Water Bottles”

Cancer Update from Johns-Hopkins

Bottled water in your car is very dangerous!

On the Ellen show, Sheryl Crow said this is what caused her breast

cancer. It has been identified as the most common cause

of the high levels of dioxin in breast cancer tissue.

Sheryl  Crow’s oncologist told her: Women should not drink bottled water that has been left in a car.

The heat reacts with the chemicals in the plastic of the

bottle which releases dioxin into the water. Dioxin is

a toxin increasingly found in breast cancer tissue.

So please be careful and do not drink bottled water that has

been left in a car. Pass this on to all the women in your

life.

This information is the kind we need to know that just might save

us! Use a stainless steel canteen or a glass bottle

instead of plastic!

No plastic containers in

microwave.

No water bottles in freezer

No plastic wrap in microwave.

A dioxin chemical causes cancer, especially breast cancer.

Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health

hazard.

He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.

He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers…

This especially applies to foods that contain

fat.

He said that the combination of fat, high heat and plastic releases

dioxininto the food and ultimately into the cells of the

body…Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramiccontainers for heating food.. You get the same results, only without the dioxin.

So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and

soups, etc.,should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the

paper.

It’s just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware,

etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food

restaurants moved awayfrom the foam containers to

paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons…

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran wrap,

is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.

Cover food with a paper towel instead. This is an article that should be sent To anyone important in Your life!

Are Pollutants Making Men More Feminine?

I can think of so many reasons why pollution is a bad thing and so many different parts of society forced to absorb the negative repercussions of it, but I have admit this is still an expected side effect.

According to the report published by the charity CHEM Trust, chemicals, including phthalates, used in food wrapping, cosmetics, baby powders, and flame retardants have been identified as “gender benders,” and “feminizing”. Lloyd has talked about the incredible shrinking man before and now a new study may be proving it.

These toxins are actually endocrine disrupters. Endocrine disruptors are any chemical, man-made or natural, that disrupts the normal balance of these hormones, with particular focus on estrogen, which is secreted by the ovaries that regulates menstruation, fertility, and fetal development. Androgens, including testosterone secreted by the testes and thyroid hormones can also be disrupted. Disruption can occur when a chemical mimics or blocks one of these hormone’s actions or causes the hormone to be over or underproduced.

And this is not just in humans, it’s in nearly every class of vertebrates from tigers to fish and chipmunks to dogs. The study found that North American boys that had been exposed to wide spread chemicals were born with smaller penises. Is this natural selection in the form of feminization?

Feminization of the Male Species
“All vertebrates have similar sex hormone receptors. Thus, the feminization of other animals could indicate a similar pattern in humans. The study also lists the symptoms found in each of numerous species tested, some of which include testicular cancer,” according to the study.

In rodents: reduced sperm;
reduced testes weight; and reduced
reproduction.

In otters and/or mink: reduced
baculum (penile bone) length; smaller
testes; and impaired reproduction.

In seals and/or sea lions:
impaired reproduction (including
implantation failure, sterility,
abortion, premature pupping).

In cetaceans: reduced testosterone
levels; impaired reproduction; and
hermaphrodite organs.

In polar bears: intersex features
and deformed genitals; reduced testes
and baculum length; low testosterone
levels in adult males; and reduced cub
survival.

In black bears: undescended testes.

The study concluded the need for increased regulation of endocrone disruptors like phthalates in products in order to reduce our exposure to them as well as the need for continued species testing.

“Look up”

THE BUZZARD

If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open
at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute
prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the
ground with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit,
it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a
small jail with no top.

THE BAT

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in
the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or
flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt,
painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw
itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

THE BUMBLEBEE

A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies,
unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but
persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom.
It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.

*PEOPLE*

In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. We
struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that
all we have to do is look up!

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But Faith looks up!

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

“Inspirational Word from Joel Osteen”

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid”
 (John 14:27, NLT).

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Did you know that nothing on earth can take away your peace and joy? That’s because it didn’t come from this world, it came from God Almighty. In fact, the only time we can ever lose our peace is when we choose to let go of it and give it away. The next time you’re tempted to get upset and frustrated ask yourself, “Is this worth giving my peace and power away?” Maybe someone was rude to you on the phone, or a co-worker left you out of a meeting, is it worth your peace?

Life is too short to live upset and offended. If you allow your circumstances to control you, there will always be some reason to get discouraged. “Well, Joel. It’s the economy.” “It’s the stock market. That’s why I’m so down.” No, quit giving away your power! God is still on the throne. The economy in heaven is doing just fine, and as long as you’re connected to Him, everything is going to be alright! Decide today to hold on to the gift of peace that God has given you so you can move forward in the victory He has in store for you!

“Quote of the day”

When all you have is God, you have all you need

- Our Daily Bread April

“Word of the DAY”

Please don’t squander one bit of this marvelous life God has given us”
 (II Chronicles 6:1, Message).

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
So many people today are living below their God-given potential. They’ve put their dreams on hold because of disappointments or setbacks. But God doesn’t want us to spend a single moment living in regret or condemnation. He doesn’t want us to settle for mediocrity, He wants us to make the most out of every moment of our lives. He promises to make all things new. He promises to restore everything the enemy has stolen from us.

We are the ones who have to make the decision to let go of the past so we can make the most of today. We have to choose to keep moving forward one step at a time. When you choose to walk in forgiveness, you are making the most of your life.. When you reach out to help others, you are making the most of your life. When you give of your time, talent, and resources to build the kingdom of God, you are making the most of your life.

Choose today to let go of the past so you can embrace every opportunity the Lord has in store for your future!
