“Stay focused with your eyes on the prize”
This word was taken from Bishop Dale Bronner’s “Word of Faith “ Church service. These are my notes from his sermon called”Eye on the Prize” he used Proverbs Ch. 11 (Book of Wisdom
The message talks about how to Prevail in Tough Times.
Focus is nothing more than focusing on completion until you are successful.
The easiest thing to do is quit. The only thing about quitting is that when you do began to start over again, you will face a totally different set of circumstances or variables.
People tend to think just because you have decided to live a righteous life that you will no longer run into any issues or storms. We all will fall victim to obstacles and barriers, but the righteous shall have faith because the righteousness will always be delivered from trouble, while the wicked will remain victims.
Steps to Prevail
Get knowledge
Get moving
Get committed
Pursue Persistently
Have quiet time(retreat)
Expect the Positive
It is only a problem if you don’t have a solution. Your limited to the knowledge that is in your own mind. Go out and educate yourself. The only thing keeping you from going to the next level is something that you do not know. You need to ask yourself these key points. Who am I getting my information from? Who is my circle? Is my circle allowing me to grow or keeping me right where I am?
When you run with the “in crowd” , You get no further than the “in crowd”.
Your inner mantra should be “Through Knowledge I will be delivered”
In tough times you need to hear the truth. The truth will set you free.
Once you get the knowledge, get moving. Education has to put you in motion. Knowledge knows what to do. Wisdom does it. Success is always connected to motion, you cant be still.
If you want to get something done, you need to go to someone that is already busy moving. Get with people already on the move.
If you needed to hitch a ride with someone would you go stand out in a parking lot or near the freeway?
God cant lead a parked car, you got to put that baby in drive.
Some people have commitment issues. God can never bless your level of commitment. You are only committed to what you confess.
Take this food for thought…There was this man who stepped one foot in the door of phone booth, he was trying really hard to find a phone number in the phone book, whish was inside the phone booth, he could barely see, because it was dark, there was no light. So up walks a young boy and says to the man with his one foot inside the phone booth, “ If you get all the way in, and shut the door, the light will come on and you will see what you need”
How powerful is that? Do you have one foot in the phone booth or have you decided to step all the way in and see the light?
Always remember that you should be so committed that no one should be able to talk you out of your covenant.
You see something you want pursue it.
The proof of desire is in pursuit.
Plan purposefully, prepare prayerfully, and pursue persistently
Everyone needs to sit in silence and meditate on God’s word. Be still, this is time to rebuild.
You reap what you sow. Expectancy causes preparation.
Wake up every morning and say “ I am expecting positive and good things to happen to me today”
Stop looking for bad things to happen. Stay positive and in God’s word
